Lionel Messi was reportedly paid £2.5 million to lay the foundation stone for an AFCON stadium in Gabon in 2017.
He was driven by President Ali Bongo.
Messi was lambasted by Gabon's opposition party for his "poor dressing."
Gabon's Government denied paying him that amount.
Gabon's opposition party said Messi wasn't properly dressed for wearing denim shirts and a t-shirt, while he was with the President at the stadium.
They said he treated his trip to Gabon like he was visiting a zoo.
