The World Could Be Powered By Nuclear Reactors In The Next Four Years

At the start of this year, Seaborg, a Danish nuclear energy company, passed the American Bureau of Shipping’s feasibility test against its floating nuclear reactor project. This brings the company a step closer to meet its ambitious targets of deploying the first commercial power barge by 2025. The reactor is being designed to be installed on a modular power barge, which will then be transported directly to any country to provide clean energy, provided they are attached to the sea. As a growth region, South East Asia has been identified as a starting point for this initiative of clean and affordable energy. Co-Founder and CEO of Seaborg, Troels Schönfeldt, claims that the ABS maritime assessment allows a reduction in cost, production time, and overall project risks. He further added that the maritime approach provides unmatched production capacity. With the installation of two nuclear reactors, the first power barges will provide 200 MW of electricity. While designing, its focus ...

US Space Force Releases First-Ever ‘Spacepower’ Military Doctrine

We are for sure living in odd times as the U.S space force has printed a 64-page military doctrine called ‘Spacepower,’ showing it is continuing to be a torchbearer of foreign policy and colonialism to space. It marks America’s self-interest over future space exploration, which might accelerate space war, contrary to the decades-old global efforts to maintain space as an un-militarized domain. Attaining spacepower can generate and apply diplomatic, informational, military and economic power,” making it evident and straight as to why the U.S has such high interests in the said subject. In just under eight months after its creation, America’s newly built military service announced its first doctrine, featured in the U.S. Space Force’s Capstone Publication, entitled as spacepower . The SCP, which is the first brief of spacepower as a separate and distinguished form of military, serves as grounds upon which to build further doctrine as expanding challenges are continually addressed i...

Check Out The World’s Largest Brick Bridge That Is Still Functional

The 256-foot-tall 1,883-foot-long Göltzsch Viaduct’s construction completed in the year 1851. It is situated about 4 km west of the German town of Reichenbach Vogtland and is the world’s largest brick bridge. Before the period of industrialization and advancements in construction industries, bricks were the most commonly used construction material. Bricks and stones were the only available option for the architects at the time. The block, stone structures were more durable and, for sure, have outlived the modern forms of construction and development. In Asia, Europe, and some other parts of the world lie thousands of brick viaducts constructed hundreds and thousands of years ago, most of which are still in good shape. Steel & Iron took over bricks and traditional forms of construction with the passage of time and advancements in the construction industry. Multiple reasons accounted for the shift inclusive of low-cost new ways of development, and architects were able to dev...

This Is The Story Of How US Airforce F-15 Shot Down A Satellite In Space

Such a fantastic event only happened once in the history when a classified ASAT ( anti-satellite ) missile was fired towards an orbiting satellite. The development and advancement in anti-satellite arms were slowed down after the period of the cold war. In recent years its growth has boomed again, and the U.S, Russia, and China are fielding new bigger weapons. Pearson is the only pilot on Earth who executed a mission in space and that too with precision. Pearson achieved this on 13th September 1985, in the skies over the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California, the target satellite was US P78-1 Solwind. Pearson got promoted to the higher rank of Major General along with this remarkable achievement. It was the most massive missile ever equipped on an F-15 Eagle. Vought designed the weapon. It was based on the Short Range Attack Missile design, a nuclear-tipped missile used by the B-52 bomber. They added a second stage and modified the missile to ascend straight into space, it...

Moderna’s COVID-19 Vaccine Has Entered Final Stage Trial

Moderna, a US-based biotech firm, said last week that it would be entering the final stage of human trials for its coronavirus vaccine on July 27. This will help it determine how successfully the vaccine is capable of imparting protection to the people in the real world. This announcement has been made after results from the previous trial were published. The previous round of trials was focused on proving that the vaccine was safe and was capable of triggering the production of antibodies. The Phase 3 trial, which is upcoming, shall involve the recruitment of 30,000 participants in the US. Half of those will be administered with 100 microgram dose levels of the vaccine by Moderna, whereas the remaining will receive a placebo. Researchers will then carry out the tracking of these recruiters for the next two years during which it will be ascertained if they are protected against the infection by COVID-19 or if they do end up getting infected, is the vaccine capable of preventing sy...

The World’s Largest Solar Powered Ship

Global Energy crisis is a hot debate these days and scientists are coming up with alternative means to provide for the power requirements. We covered the flying wind mill a few days back and they keep coming up with new innovative methods for power generation. While some of them can be employed on a larger scale and may provide energy for more than one individual, some projects focus on individuals and deliver power for a single household or a vehicle. Solar power has been around for quite some time now and is proving to be very versatile and adaptable source of energy. Today we present the world’s largest solar powered ship. As the name implies, the idea is not new. However, it is impressive because of the scale of things. Planet Solar has come up with this ship that runs on solar power. The ship has a length of 31m and a width of 15m. Want to take a guess of how many kilowatts it can generate? Here’s a hint, the engine requires around 20 kW. The ship is able to capture almost 103.4 ...

Watch How This Guy Made An Awesome Potato Launcher For His Homemade Tank

Our regular readers know that we are a fan of Colin Furze, the famous YouTube user known for his innovative inventions. Our favorite inventor is back, and this time he is busy creating a unique addition to this home-made screw tank. What is the addition, you ask? It is a semi-autonomous potato launcher! Ah yes, trespassers beware! Why did he choose potatoes? Who knows. It could be because of their shape and weight. However, Colin Furze did say that there were two contenders for the weapon; a flame thrower and a potato launcher. He decided to favor the potato launcher because let’s face it; tanks do not look cool with flame throwers at all. Furthermore, having a potato launcher gives the potential possibility of launching other items as well, given that they would fit in the potato launcher. The video that has been added at the end of this post will take you through the entire ride of creating the potato launcher. However, we should point out that you cannot do this at home and tha...
