One of the scientific reasons behind the use of green overall is that surgeons (doctors in the operating room), may get blinded by the totally spotless white overalls once they move their eye from the dark red color of the blood to the white clothing of his or her colleagues.

Furthermore, Green, blue, and gray are the only satisfactory colors in the theatre. The theatre has a very bright light, these colors are reflective and doesn't change the color of patient organs.

These colors also prevents eye fatigue, and gives comfort to the eyes during surgery. The eyes have to be kept open, due to this prolonged period, the eyes get tired. But if the green color is seen immediately, then the eyes get cold (more active).

Because of this, the green and blue colors of their clothes not only help to improve a surgeon’s visual acuity but also make them more sensitive to different shades of red. Therefore, it helps them pay greater attention to the nuances of human anatomy, which significantly reduces the likelihood that they’ll make a mistake during an operation.
