Djibouti has the largest telecoms infrastructure in East Africa.

In 2019, Rome Research, a Global provider of software, systems and service solutions was awarded $8m contract for installation of telecommunication infrastructure in Djibouti, mainly at the US Military Base.

Djibouti also aims to become a telecoms hub between the high- traffic zones of Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe.
