Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, says Nigerian roads are not as bad and deplorable as citizens portray them to be.
Fashola stated this while addressing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, November 6, 2019,
He has, however, blamed poor funding and delays in acquiring road construction supplies for the poor performance of his ministry since 2015.
"The roads are not as bad as they are often portrayed. I know that this is going to be your headline, but the roads are not that bad'' He says
"When I announce that a particular amount was approved for a contract, that doesn't mean the amount has been paid, contrary to what you suggest''.
Many Nigerians have come out to condemn what Fashola is saying owing to the fact that some Major roads in Nigeria are worse than worse-permit me to use that word.
Last time, It was stated that Niger State road are among the worse road to travel on, we can't even talk about the Federal road linking Enugu and Anambra.
I think It is high time our ministers stop deceiving us and making it look like we are asking for much, yes we suppose to as for more. That alone would probably make us better.
