History today; Some Igbo people of Eastern Nigeria perform two burial ceremonies; the first ceremony sends the dead to the spirit world, while the second one, ikwa ozu, celebrates the dead.
In fact, they spend generously to bury their dead because, according to them, if a dead man is not given a befitting burial his spirit will roam the earth to torment the living.
